Man-made marvels

Caught this program on Discovery Channel last night. Good one. This episode is on the Tapei 101 building.
Ever since young, I have been amazed by the buildings around me. Maybe because I was born in a kampong and only used the lift at the age of 5. Haha ~ Or maybe it's due to my late Ah Gong's work. He ran his own small construction firm, thus I always get to come across many blueprints in his room. I always wonder how the foundation is laid, how the cement is poured, how the steel rods are used, how the electric wires are laid, where the pipes go to and many more.
I guess it's a surprise even to myself that I am not in civil engineering. I reckon the sun put me off. Wahahaa ~
