Cause and effectBy now, you should have heard of the suicide of the man in the train station a week ago. I almost couldn't believe the headline when I flipped the papers over the weekend. The public donation to this family is $300,000.
If you recalled my post on Huang Na, you will know by now that I am against such public donation. The power of media is just unimaginable. And many of these idiots are donating for the sake of publicity. Inevitably, these beneficiaries will lose the incentive to work.
You know what's the most worrying issue in this donation? Had it ever cross your mind that a man lived to support his family? He may be extremely poor, but he won't be willing to just die as yet because he believes that he shouldn't desert his family. With the right state of mind, he will think that his family will suffer even more if he dies. Now look at this incident. This man dies. The family becomes $300,000 richer overnight. Now think again. If you are a man on the verge of attempting suicide. You want your family to have a better life. Will the thought of having these donation after your death come to your mind? Will you jump?
Donation is a kind act? Think again.
