Came across an interesting article on an age old topic - one Asia currency. Pretty well written, go read it if you still have a copy.
Let me try to recall his reasoning ~
1. Economies at very different stages of development
2. Lose the monetary policy automny
3. No economic leader such as Germany in Europe
4. Political issues

Seriously, Asia's economies are not mature enough for all these. If they can resort to banning Coke and Pepsi so as to counter competition, I doubt they have any idea in their brain for collaboration.
