It didn't come as a surprise when I saw the news on TV. I think I was informed of such plan at the beginning of the year. Our President is a lawyer, so what do you think? Anyway, it's a great move. Business Times just reported yesterday that there is a shortage of corporate lawyers. I think SMU can fill up this hole.
I wonder how will it looks in the future. Lawyers have always been regarded as the elites. So will the rest of the school feel inferior to them? Will they be able to blend well into the SMU culture? Will they become just mugger, without contribution to the student life in SMU? One thing for sure, it will only strengthen the reputation of SMU. We are moving forward.......
