I am always curious about France's love for labor strikes and protests. Come on, it's really amusing how those politicians cave in to these lobbies. Hahaha ~ maybe they need the "special force" from Singapore ~
Maybe the article on Straits Times today resolves my cusority. Farmers are among the most determined and violent protestors ~ so why does the citizen protect them so much? Do you know that due to the EU's Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), these French are paying much more for food? Yet, only 3.5 percent of the French are in farming now. Why does the 96.5 percent of the country love their farmers so much?
1st of all, high-quality food remains as an important part of French culture, so they are claiming that globlisation of the agricultural market will make France more susceptible to bad-tasting food. Wahahaa ~ this type of excuse also can work - Tamade!
2nd reason, French farmers are considered the keepers of the countryside. Citizens are afraid that their countryside will soon empty if they don't protect the farmers. Wah best ~ this reason even more powerful.
So what is Singaporean tends to protect and in turn won't let it die? Nothing. Try protest if you dare, and you will be slapped with a fine. Haahaa ~ its funny how different culture works in differerent parts of the world.......
