Accreditation bodies CaseTrust and the Association of Employment Agencies Singapore (AEAS) said that from January next year, new employers must give maids one day off a month or compensate them in cash, under a standard employment contract currently being finalised.

Yesh, maids are human too. They deserve a break from our crap. Come on. Don't give employers the choice between compensation or day off. Many rich ass can offer that $30 and demand their maids to continue working. Make it a legal requirement!
